Mary Beltran is part of a new generation of artists determined to highlight the disparities that women still face in the 21st century through her conceptual art. She has a particular interest in defending the equal right to pay and fighting the rape culture. But, she equally enjoys underlying issues related to beauty and identity as part of her artistic discourse. Mary has no professional photography training or any particular background in embroidery techniques, mediums that she uses to create minimalistic images often charged with emotions and sarcasm to represent women struggling with the nuisance of their lives.
